Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I’m from Macon, Ga. My 10th grade English teacher introduced me to HBCU’s, he’s a graduate of Fort Valley State University.

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose to attend an HBCU over a PWI because I saw the importance of uplifting black history.
If black institutions don’t have and maintain the support of black students then HBCU’s will fail. So, I chose my HBCU with intentions of uplifting my institution and being a part of what makes it so illustrious!
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My experience at my HBCU has honestly been life changing. I’ve been empowered so much by the history of my institution. So many people that sat in the same classrooms as me have went on to do amazing things and that alone inspires me.

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
As Miss Junior for the 2018-2019 academic school year, I experienced my first time being a part of a parade at my HBCU.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Jamal Touré, my mentor, professor, and friend has impacted my life in and out of the classroom. The way he genuinely loves and cares about each and every person at Savannah State inspired me to be selfless, no matter the situation.
