2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

It’s what was expected of me and it’s a tradition in my family. PWIs don’t do a well enough job of preparing blacks for today’s world. I <3 My HBCU.

FAMU was my 2nd choice. Howard was my 1st.

I had some application errors with Howard and it was too late to re-apply when I realized this. So a recruiter from FAMU who’s also a FAMU alum and a graduate of my High School came and visited in search of our top 10 students.
I was in the top 40. I told her my GPA and test scores. She offered me a scholarship; Within 2 weeks I applied and within a month I was accepted.

3

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
