Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I'm a Cali girl that was introduced to an HBCU from my parents who are HBCU graduates also.

My husband and I met at CAU and have been married for 11 years.
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I went on a college tour and wanted to be around African American achievers and I heard great stories from my parents about their experiences. And at the time my brother attended Morehouse College
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My experience was very rewarding being able to thrive away from home and seeing like minded individuals that were pursuing their education.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
I was in a culture shock and wanted to embrace the new adventure of being at CAU.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Dr. Debois, Dr. Cummings and Mrs. T.

A day in the life of a teacher
How many “firsts” have you had at college ? What are they? (e.g. first road trip, first job interview, first love, first “F or A”, etc.)
Road trip to Miami and South Carolina
What was your happiest moment in your life to date?
Casual dating and later settling down with my husband m.
What situation in your life made you feel like you had arrived into woman/manhood?
Actually being grown and treated as a grown-up. First year on campus but thereafter living off campus, paying bills and being disciplined to study, study sessions, and going to work.
What adversities (hardships) have you overcome to become the strong person that you are?
Adversities, I was the first grandchild to graduate from a University/College.
What was your proudest moment in your life to date?
Walking across the stage and being on the deans list.
