2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

I chose an HBCU over a PWI because I wanted to continue the legacy that our ancestors has made for us. I wanted to come and learn the history behind LeMoyne-Owen and make their ancestors proud and make my family proud.

3

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

I have enjoyed all four years of college, including the up’s and down’s. Attending LeMoyne-Owen has been great because I have been able to get one on one help if needed, it’s family oriented and their colors are purple and gold, which purple is my favorite color.

4

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*

My first time experience was freshman orientation. All the student leaders from different organizations came together in GOH 111, to teach us the school chat. It was funny and nice.

They got off beat a few times but you could tell that didn’t matter to them because they had school pride and love. I will always remember that day.

5

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*

The professors that have impacted my life are Dr. Toyence Randolph and Ms. Whitaker.

If it wasn’t for Dr. Randolph giving us the love and motivation and direction to go throughout college, I wouldn’t have made it these four years. Now, Ms. Whitaker she knows how to sweet talk you into believing yourself and giving you that push to get out there and just do it. I’m glad God put two of his best angels in my life.

6

How are you positively active on campus? (e.g. clubs, SGA, etc.)

I am Vice-President of the LeMoyne-Owen College Gospel Choir. President of the Student Advisory Board of the LeMoyne-Owen College Magical Marching Band, I’m also a flag girl.

I’m a Resident Assistance, Campus Activity Board member (C.A.B) Pre-Alumni member.
