2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

Historically black colleges/universities represent the best that African Americans have to offer. I chose an HBCU, particularly Tuskegee University because of the rich origin, legacy of overcoming adversity, and lineage of molding successful alums through a nurturing environment.

3

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

Because Tuskegee had a partnership with my high school, I was able to attend The institute with fully funded tuition, room/board.

Making the most of the opportunity, I was able to be challenged academically, be groomed as a student leader, and developed professionally through internship opportunities. Furthermore, the friendships I've made have been invaluable.

4

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*

My first time attending a Tuskegee homecoming as a sophomore in high school, I knew I was home and made it a priority to pursue it as my college choice.

5

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*

Two professors that impacted my life are Dr. Roberta Troy (freshman orientation) and Professor Johnny Johnson (accounting). Both encouraged me to pursue excellence and go above and beyond.
