Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*

I am from Clayton,NC. I was introduced to HBCU’s by a church I used to step for. The instructor was a man of alpha phi alpha fraternity inc, and he attended Shaw university. I always knew that once I had seen the campus and what was going on I knew that I would be going to an HBCU.

2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

I chose an HBCU because I loved the family environment. And I love to see young black people grow and learn and flourish.

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

Even though Saint Augustine’s University has caught a lot of backlash from the media and different people, I will say this IF YOU HAVE NOT ATTENDED SAINT AUGUSTINE’S UNIVERSITY then you do not know what you are speaking on.

My institution prides itself on the rich history and the legacy that was left behind. St Aug. has been around for years and it is not going anywhere. It is truly a family from the First day of classes your freshman year until you graduate and then you are still family.

4

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*

My first experience at my HBCU was the first block party around the quad. At first I was kinda standing there but the older students engaged me right in and it turned out to be a great night.

The Greeks were strolling, the cheerleaders (The Blue chips best in the CIAA) and then the superior sound marching band which I also was a part of.

5

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*

Professor Natalie N Brown I met her my freshmen year due to my major and ever since then she has been a great role model to me if I ever needed help or just someone to talk to she would always be there.

6

What to date has been your proudest moment @ Your HBCU?

Graduating.
