Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*

I’m Originally From Baltimore,Maryland. My mother attended Morgan State University During The Mid-70s, so that was my first introduction to HBCUs. It’s Funny Because Originally I Never Wanted To Attend An HBCU. I Always Thought They Were The Party Schools.

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

Coming Out Of High School I Decided To Take A Division 3 Football Scholarship To A Small School In Delaware. Financial Circumstances Came About And I Was Forced To Transfer In State. I Chose Bowie State Because I Didn’t Get Into My First Choice Salisbury University. From There The Rest Is History.

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

Well I’ve Had The Chance To Get Deeply Involved With A lot Of Things While Attending This School. From Being A Student Athlete Playing On The Bulldog Football Team, To Being A Resident Assistant And Mentoring Other Young Men And Watching Them Progress Over The Years And Now Recently Having The Chance To Study Abroad And Live In China.

I’m Forever Thankful For This University. You Can Say I Got My Money’s Worth.

4

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*

It’s So Many To Name, But The One That Has Had The Biggest Impact Was Definitely Study Abroad

5

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*

No Question Prof. Rodney Williams and Prof. Risikat Okedeyi. They Showed Me A lot About The Artist Game And What Makes It So Special Is That They Give It To Me Real And Gave Me Hands-On Experience On How To Handle Myself Correctly As An Artist.

They’ve Also Taught Me To Think Outside The Box And Never To Doubt Myself. The Will Forever Be Apart Of Me.

6

What sports do/did you play at your HBCU? What positions?

I Played Football At Bowie State From 2014-2015. I Played Offensive Guard and Tackle For The Bulldogs, Being Able To Achieve My Goal Of Playing College Football While Making Lifelong Brothers Means Everything To Me.

7

What is your major? and Why did you choose it?

I Am A Visual Communications And Digital Media Arts Which Is A Long Drawn Out Term For Film. I Chose My Major Because I Always Loved Tv And Movies And I Was Curious On How The Things Were Created Which Made Me Pick Up A Camera.
