Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Chicago, IL. My family has a tradition that we attend an HBCU after high school graduation.

@mpressedcustoms
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose my HBCU over a PWI based on family tradition and culturally I needed the experience in my life to become a better version of myself.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My story is simple. I was the girl who wanted to be a part of everything and wanted to leave my mark on campus for future generations.
CAU was not my first choice (FAMU was) but CAU was the first to send me an acceptance letter. After doing my research I found my love for the school growing without even stepping foot on campus until move-in day.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
My most memorable “first time“ experience would definitely be the first time I swag surfed. After leaving a predominantly white high school I didn’t know much about traditions such as swag surfing so that was definitely one for the books! That and my first fried chicken Wednesday.

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Dr. Simon, Ms. Adams, & Ms. Raglin impacted my life in profound ways. While Dr. Simon was my actual professor all three of these individuals molded me into a better person and helped me to adjust my perspective on life.
What sports and/or extra curricular activities did you do in High School? And why?
I was a cheerleader in high school. So transitioning from cheering competitively to not keeping the same workout regimen was definitely an adjustment both mentally and physically.
Entrepreneur? Tell us about your business.
I have two entrepreneurial ventures. I have my own custom t-shirt and personalized items business based in Chicago. However I also have a YouTube channel that is geared towards arts and crafts for kids.
