Malik Singleton, Harris-Stowe State University- c/o 2022, Business Marketing

Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Detroit, Michigan. My High School Bio teacher, my high school counselor and Midnight Golf Program (introduced me to HBCUs).

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose an HBCU because I knew it was important to go to a school that can really invest into me. A school that cares for me even after I graduate.
Plus, the connections you make and the relationships you create just being an HBCU grad.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My experience is amazing. I am only a sophomore and already doing so much.
I am Mister Sophomore, a member of Sigma Alpha Pi honor society. I am also a part of Collegiate 100 and so much more.
My HBCU is the 5th oldest HBCU and the only HBCU in STL and also the most affordable and #1 in STEM.

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
The tailgate, The tailgate is one the most best days of the year.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
I have to give it to the staff at Harris-Stowe, From the office of financial aid, admissions, Office of academic of success, Trio and office of retention.
They all have invested their personal time and effort into me. They have stayed extra hours to support me in events and have been there for me personally also.
