2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

Because of the tradition and the connection HBCUs give! Each one no matter how big or small treats you like family! Whether students or alumni from HBCUs, we all can relate to something from HBCUs!

3

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

My experience at Southern is one that I've shared with so many! I loved Southern so much, I make it my business to recruit children year around to our institution.

The love, the education, the forever friends that turned to family! Southern truly prepared me for real world experiences. As a Southern Alumna, I brag different. Southern made me who I am today

I currently work locally in Atlanta in our Southern University Chapter. Yes I'm active and financial (have to add that). I help with recruiting and college fairs.

I am also a mentor to a young lady who is a member of the Southern University Human Jukebox. I do media/marketing for our chapter for all events. I cover sports for my beloved alma mater. I worked on the MDM Campaign for Southern University Alumni Federation to help raise money for the university.

9

What situation in your life made you feel like you had arrived into woman/manhood?

It a discussion that many hate to have, but I have it! Its an ugly mask that must be unmasked

11

When and how did you discover your passion in life?

I discovered my passion of sports maybe 10 years ago! I worked with non profits around NFL players a lot. I went to games, I wrote, and eventually got into radio. Its been a long journey, but I am now the CEO of Black College Experience (sports podcast).

12

What advice would you give high school students filling out college applications for the first time?

HBCUs are some of the most fostering places to go. They are rich in tradition.

Do your research because many doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, educators, engineers, etc come out of HBCUs. If you are looking at HBCUs for sports, don't doubt us, we can compete and have sent many to the league as well...if they want you they will find you!

13

If you could only speak two sentences to the youth coming after you what would you say?

I will not lose & the world is yours!
