Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Houston, Texas, my 5th grade teacher Ms. Rosiland Chew introduced me to Morehouse College! She was a graduate of PVA&MU. On a cold winter day she said that all the men that she knew that made positive change in the Community went to Morehouse College. From that moment I knew i wanted to be a Morehouse Man!

Joshua T. Scott
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
Personally for me there was not an option, I knew at an early age where I wanted to attend college because I wanted to follow in the footsteps on all the great Men that attended Morehouse!
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
Family, Friends, History, Legacy, the experience at Morehouse College is one of a kind!
An all African-American Male School, a place where you walk the same halls of great men like Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee, Martin King.
The mystique, the legacy to live up to - knowing that your name could be the next name etched in the History. The opportunity to sit next to future Doctors, Lawyers, Mayor's, knowing that although at the time we had not fulfilled our dreams but we will.
To have Clark Atlanta, Morris Brown, and Spelman College just a brisk walk away would give you nothing but excitement, because you knew you would find a party, line dance, or just a place to hang out. Developing life long friendships and bonds that would surpass this life time. Ultimately being able to pass that same history and legacy to the next generation is a priceless feeling.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
My First time experience on campus was my encounter with what is now my brotherhood Alpha Phi Alpha! The brother met us as we pulled up to the dorm room, and before they could even ask me a question I blurted out how can I become one of you guys. The brother simply said "lets get you moved in first" from that moment own I knew i would join Alpha Phi Alpha!
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Pastor/Professor Aaron Parker who taught Religion 301/355 taught me to test the limits of my faith, the limits of what I believe. To not just take the faith as final - but to seek your personal truth!
