Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose an HBCU because of the rich history that they all possess, the family oriented environment that HBCUs create for their students, and the idea that the university will do everything in their power to be sure individuals succeed, graduate, and be productive citizens.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
Representing as Queen of my university means more to me than I could ever explain. It has allowed me to help my peers and those outside of my university on an even greater scale than I did before being elected! There is nothing like an HBCU experience, especially at GSU! From homecoming/spring fest, sporting events, receptions, and just merely being on our campus and in the classrooms, it’s nothing like it!
The love I have for GSU and my peers is unconditional! Seeing them happy and being able to bless those around me on a daily basis, even if it’s with just with a warm hug and smile, means the world to me!
God truly had a plan and purpose for my life at Grambling and beyond. Since joining the #GramFam I have been been involved in and become a member of various organizations. There is no way I could have done any of this without much prayer, hard work, and those who helped & supported me along the way!
My HBCU changed my life by simply GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND! It has also changed me by affording me numerous opportunities to network, build my resume, meet many amazing people, and take me to so many wonderful places.
After graduation, my plans are to attend Medical School and go on to practice Family Medicine and continue to help others, change lives, and make a positive impact on all those around me. In the meantime, I intend to continue to Empower, Enhance, & Inspire and embody the very spirit of the GSU TIGER, while “Keeping the Heart of the Tiger beating Strong.”

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
Really, to be honest, everything I have experienced at Grambling was a “first time” experience and I will never forget any of them! Homecoming week, Spring Fest, Campaign season, basketball, baseball, and soccer games, Greek organizations, internships, you name it!
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Mostly every professor I’ve had has had a positive impact on me. The ones who have played a major role in my life in and outside of the classroom are Ms. L. Anderson, Dr. G. Stewart, Dr. M. Martin, Dr. U. Ifeanyi, Dr. D. Hill, Dr. S. Favors, and Dr. B. Burkes. They have supported me through great teaching, writing recommendation letters, advising me, supporting me in my campaigns, events, & organizations and have just been an overall great support system during my journey and helping prep for my future!
