Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Long Island, New York and I was introduced to HBCU’s from going online and it just coming to me as a surprise. The only HBCU I knew about at the time was Howard University.

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose an HBCU over a PWI because I was surrounded my Caucasians all my life and I wanted to be around other African American people who are going for the same thing I am going for, a degree.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
I recently was a student at Morgan State University, I transferred to Coppin State University because I felt as if it was a much better option, it is way more affordable, it’s a nice campus and they are known for the major I am going for, Nursing.
Coppin is known for producing the majority of African American nurses in the state of Maryland and it is known for it’s alumni and it being an affordable institution with wonderful education and a beautiful campus.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
My first job interview was during the time I was in college, first time getting an A, my first love was in college and my first heartbreak.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
I love French so the professor that gave me the most impression was my French professor, Madame Poirier. She is such a wonderful and passionate professor, she always let me know how much of a good student I am and how I will go far and I really do appreciate that. French is now my minor.
Best restaurants on/near campus? Best dishes?
The Austin Grill is great when you don’t want to eat the cafeteria food. Everything on it is good.
College crush?
My college crush is now my boyfriend.
What is your major? and Why did you choose it?
My major is nursing and I chose it because I always had a passion for helping people and just being in the health care field.
What to date has been your proudest moment @ Your HBCU?
My proudest moment is when I transferred from Morgan to Coppin State and have my grades increase drastically and meeting wonderful people.
Where are the spots to go to if you wanted to cuddle with your boy or girlfriend?
If not in your dorm, you can go to the library or Grace Jacobs building maybe. Lol.
How are you positively active on campus? (e.g. clubs, SGA, etc.)
I have just been there for a semester but when I get back, I may join the SGA.
What to date has been your saddest moment at your HBCU?
The saddest moment is when I found out I had to leave Morgan State because it was too expensive and I could not afford it.
How did you overcome your nervousness about going to college?
I got to know some people on Facebook before actually entering the university so I could know some people getting into the school.
Are you a member of a fraternity?
I am not pledging, it is just not something I have been interested in.
