I’m from los Angeles.
My high school teacher Mr. Conner encouraged and advised me about Hbcu’s, which helped me in making the choice of going to the great B-CU.

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I always wanted to be part of the HBCU family.
Felt Like Home....The first time I came to visit B-CU they were so friendly and welcoming. The teachers were nice and the way the teachers interact with their students one on one made me know that this was the school for me.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
It’s been so fun , my dorm life I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. I love my school and would always represent my school anywhere.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
I didn’t really have a lot of firsts because when I came to Bethune cookman I was 16 years old and most thing I could involve myself in you had to be 18.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
MS. CANDACE FINLEY. omg ms finley that’s my main.
She is such a nice woman, always there for her students both academic and personal life being that she is so young most students are so comfortable talking to her because she has been in our shoes before.

Best restaurants on/near campus? Best dishes?
There is a lot of food restaurant around Bethune cookman especially by the beach which is 5 mins away from the school but my favorite food place had to be Bethune grill..its know for this sweet spicy chicken that its so good lol u haven’t enjoyed yet until u eat Bethune grill.
What is your major? and Why did you choose it?
Nursing. I always wanted to work in the medical field and nursing was less years instead of going to medical school and its faster.
How are you positively active on campus? (e.g. clubs, SGA, etc.)
I am one of the bcu athletic trainers. I’m also a member of the African students association, which we remade active last year; also a member of UNCF, which I have been involved with since high school.
I was the activities coordinator/ peer leader for college summit and a member of my sisters keepers in high school.
Where is the “yard” located?
We call it the quad. It’s located by White Hall.
What and where are the historical places on campus?
Mary McLeod Bethune’s house lol people always say the black cat that walks around the campus is mary McLeod because that was her cat but I don’t believe in ghosts.
If you could only speak two sentences to the youth coming after you what would you say?
Enjoy The HBCU Experience ,stay in school and get involved in school events and join different organizations.
