Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am a native of the beautiful city/state of Shreveport, Louisiana. HBCU’s were introduced to me by the many alumni that evolved around me on a daily basis. The conversations, college football games shown on television, and the many rivalries that went on around me grabbed all of my attention.

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose an HBCU over a PWI because of it’s comfortability! Experiencing both institutions before making a solid decision was an amazing opportunity. I was able to balance out the pros and cons of both.
I gravitated more to the HBCU’s side because of the togetherness, understanding, and seeing the hardwork of many African Americans. I was able to fit right in and go with the flow and more importantly find myself and lifelong, beautiful friends from everywhere.

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
The story of my experience at Grambling State University given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution are the action and excitement of sports held at my institution. The football, basketball, baseball, soccer, softball, track and field, and many more sports brings enlightenment to my institution. The support is surreal!
From what my eyes have seen while attending these activities and sitting in the stands, there has and will always be that audience or voice that keeps the team going and pushing harder and harder to finish strong.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
First time experiences at Grambling State University has always left me positively speechless. My first Homecoming was AMAZING!!!
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Some professors that has impacted my life in and out of the classroom are Mrs. E. Jenkins, Dr. Bradtford, Dr. Fobbs, Dr. Thomason, and much more! These important people helped me to keep going through their words but more importantly their actions. They showed that they cared. They helped push me to the young lady I am today! I will never forget the inspiring conversations and encouraging words that were given.
