Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Sumter, SC. My parents attended HBCU’s.

She is clothed in Strength and Dignity. #BlackScholar #SeniorClassQueen #IlovemyHBCU
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I actually attended a PWI first. Then I transferred to an HBCU. I felt more at home. Felt like there was much more support from my professors.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My HBCU was built on the principles “Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve." which they teach each student to do. They ensure our success so we can go out and change our community.

Who better to place the crown on the Queens head! #EducatedMom
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
I was voted Senior Class Queen and my first time attending a coronation where I was an actual participant.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
My History professors taught me the history of my people that did not start with slavery.
My English professors taught me to speak to a certain standard of English and still utilize my Ebonics.
My major professors taught me there are no excuses and as an African-American Woman I must work twice as hard but I can achieve what I set out to do.
