Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
I am from Lexington, Mississippi. I was introduced to HBCUs at a young age by my mother who attended Jackson State University.
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
When visiting different college campuses during middle and high school HBCUs always stuck out more to me because I felt a sense of community and school pride.
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
Attending Alcorn State University provided me with an environment where I can grow as an individual, become more independent, sociable, and gain a better understanding of the field I chose.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
Chicken Wednesday was different for me. People actually dress up to go to the cafe and it’s the perfect time to socialize.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
Dr. Stallings was one of the first professors I met in the agriculture department. To this day he continues to push me to do the things I’m afraid to do and take chances.
Are you a member of a sorority?
Yes. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Zeta Chapter
