Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*
New Orleans, Louisiana.

I love my HBCU!!!
Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*
I chose an HBCU because my older brother went to an HBCU and I knew it would feel like family.

Girl Trek
What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*
My experience at Southern University at New Orleans was a grand one. I met so many people and formed so many relationships. And most of all I knew it would be a good fit for me. At that time, I did not know how going to an HBCU would change my life.
"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*
My first experience at Southern University at New Orleans was an eye opener for me. I saw so many successful people like me and that was encouraging and motivational.
Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*
The professor who impacted my life was the Chair of the English Department.
My last semester before graduation, I really got sick. Professor Davidson, was so encouraging and helpful to me. He assisted me with getting my assignments and by keeping me informed with everything that was going on.
It’s professors like that, who go the extra mile, that will make a huge impact on your life. Not to give up and keep striving for the top!
