1

Where are you from? Who introduced you to HBCUs?*

I was born in Kenya but raised in Washington DC. I used to go to Howard homecoming every year and I fell in love with it.

"I chose an HBCU because it made me excited to see others like myself thriving on all levels."

2

Why did you choose an HBCU over a pwi?*

I chose an HBCU because it made me excited to see others like myself thriving on all levels.

"...creating this app would be the best possible way to reach black communities all over the world."

3

What is the story of your "experience" at Your HBCU given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?*

Attending Morgan State University gave me the opportunity to meet some great people. Also it taught me to critically think on all levels.

4

"First time" experiences at your HBCU?*

It was honestly freshman week, lol yeah when I saw how many of us choose Morgan State I knew IT was something special.

5

Who are the professors that have impacted your life in and out of the classroom? How did they do that?*

Dr. Jackson is a professor in the political science department. She continues to push me on all levels and make me understand that I have to be the best.

6

When and how did you discover your passion in life?

Growing up in an Afrocentric household I was always asked “What will be my legacy within the Black Community?

So starting freshmen year, I started thinking about how can I educate my people on a platform that they would have easy access to. So I started thinking about crazy ideas like writing a book (which I did), starting a pro-black organization, joining the NAACP and many more.

After talking to friends and doing extensive research for about 3 years, I decided that creating this app would be the best possible way to reach black communities all over the world. That’s why I created the “4 The Culture” app.
